July 1, 2022 – Mineral Development, LLC (MDL) is pleased to announce the construction of its 1.2 million tons per year secondary recovery phosphate plant in Bartow, FL is nearly complete. The $70mm facility has been under construction for 20 months but will commence commissioning over the next month and should be in full production in Q4 2022.
The plant is the first new phosphate plant constructed in the USA in over 30 years and is the largest secondary recovery facility for the production of high-grade phosphate rock in the world.
All staffing has been completed, and the company is now working closely with its EPC contractor on the plant commissioning.
MDL will sell its high-grade rock locally in Central Florida and to international markets with shipments out of the Port of Tampa.
