MDL has completed the construction and commissioning of its new secondary recovery phosphate plant in Bartow, FL, which is designed to produce 1.2 million short tons per year of high-grade Florida rock.
After several months of commissioning, the company started full production in May and is now shipping product daily to Mosaic under the long-term off-take agreement between the two companies.
MDL’s production to date has been excellent, exceeding the contractual quality requirements.
The plant processes tailings from Florida Bone Valley rock mines to produce traditional high-grade phosphate rock. The company operates only on previously mined lands, has no greenfield operations, and will reclaim land under current DEP guidelines.
About: Mineral Development, LLC is the leading producer of secondary recovery phosphate rock in the world and is proud of its sustainable operations that help feed the world’s population.
