Bartow, FL. August 10, 2016. Mineral Development, LLC (“MDL”) has entered into a long-term exclusive arrangement with Clear Springs Land Company for recovery of phosphate rock on its 18,000 acres in Polk County, Florida. The Clear Springs site was home to two former mining operations that ran from 1940 until 1999 and were part of Florida’s legendary high-grade phosphate production sought after world-wide by fertilizer producers. MDL will go through permitting and construct a new beneficiation plant on-site to process the sand tailings. It is estimated to have a mine life of 20 years at a run rate of over 1mm tons per year. All of the Clear Springs site has been previously mined and the new operations will be restoring the land according to current regulatory standards, making it more suitable for future development — recreation, farming, residential or commercial use. “We are very pleased to partner with Clear Springs for our initial site. They have the same long-term view as ours and recognize the value, both short and long term, for them,” said company CEO, Lance McNeill.
